These experiences can look different on the surface, but they may be influenced by less-visible patterns shaping what you notice, how you interpret situations and how you respond.
It’s exhausting to re-live past exchanges, dissecting what was said, what was meant, and what you should have said instead. This habit keeps you stuck in the past, pulling focus away from the present moment.
Constantly prioritising everyone else’s needs leaves you stretched thin. When saying “no” triggers guilt, saying “yes” becomes an automatic habit that compromises your own boundaries and energy.
Even simple choices turn into a mental tug-of-war. The constant need for certainty leads to analysis paralysis, making you doubt your instincts and look outward for reassurance.
There is a frustrating gap between your intentions and your actions. Knowing the right step forward isn’t the problem, it’s the invisible friction, procrastination, or hesitation that stops you from following through.
When it matters most—whether in a crucial meeting, a difficult conversation, or a new environment, your confidence wavers, making you hold back your insights and mask your capability.
Whether in your professional or personal life, you notice the same familiar frustrations, communication breakdowns, or roles playing out with different people, as if following an unwritten script.
A comment or situation triggers an instant, intense response before your conscious mind can catch up. You’re left navigating the aftermath of a reaction that felt completely automatic.
Despite your best intentions and efforts to explain yourself, a gap remains between what you mean and what others hear, leading to a lingering sense of isolation in your important relationships.
You’ve read the books, attended the workshops, and possess immense self-awareness, yet the underlying habits remain unchanged. You’re ready to move past just understanding the problem to actually shifting it.
Recognising yourself in these patterns does not mean you are not trying hard enough. Behaviour is often the visible result of filters and habits operating outside immediate conscious awareness. These can influence what feels important, what you overlook, how you interpret another person and the responses available to you in the moment.
Until those patterns become easier to observe, it can be difficult to create a different response consistently.
Figuring Out People gives you a practical way to recognise these patterns in yourself and others. Across three live days, you will learn to observe what is happening more accurately, separate what you notice from what you assume it means, and develop greater flexibility in how you communicate and respond.
These reflections are from people who have participated in learning and coaching experiences with The Coaching Room.
“The Coaching Room has genuinely transformed my life. What once felt overwhelming is now manageable, and I've regained time, clarity, and confidence I didn't realise I was missing.”
Dave Milburn
“I have only positive comments to make about my experience with The Coaching Room. I've now participated in 3 courses, had a couple of one on one coaching sessions, and am about to embark on a Group Coaching program.”
Leigh Lonsdale
Many personality tools tell you what ‘type’ someone is. Figuring Out People works differently.
Meta-programs are patterns people run in context. They are not fixed labels and do not reduce a person to a box. They help you observe what someone may be doing in a specific situation through their language, body, voice
and behaviour.
This program may not be the right fit if you are looking for a quick personality quiz, a passive seminar or a simple script that tells you exactly what to say in every situation. It may also not be the right fit if you want to label other people without being willing to examine your own patterns first.
Figuring Out People is practical, reflective and experiential. You will be invited to observe, practise, question, discuss and apply the work in real time.
Describe before you interpret.
Evidence before conclusion.
Person before pattern.
